As part of its corporate social responsibility program, Lamda Development collaborates with NPO ‘Me Alla Matia’, raising awareness among students regarding disability and inclusion.
Lamda Development has extended its support to the Hellenic Paralympic Committee for 2024, in anticipation of this year’s Olympic and Paralympic events. In this context, aiming to support programs with a social impact in the local communities where it operates, the company is collaborating with ‘Me Alla Matia’ which implements educational programs in schools to familiarize students with disability.
Starting from February 2024 and throughout the year, with the support of Lamda Development, up to 60 educational programs will be implemented in schools in the municipalities of Elliniko-Argyroupoli, Alimos, and Glyfada, addressing 3,200 students of all educational levels. The goal is to raise awareness and familiarize students with disability, to promote the values of the Paralympic movement, and to provide knowledge about Paralympic sports through interactions with Paralympic athletes who serve as inspirational examples for all.
The collaboration between Lamda Development, the Hellenic Paralympic Committee, and the NPO “Me Alla Matia” reinforces the importance of education and awareness so that the new generation can collectively make a difference in eliminating all forms of discrimination, promoting inclusion, and combating the social exclusion of people with disability. Athletes and individuals with disability participating in the program will engage in discussions with students, aiming to realistically approach the realities of disability, accessibility, and the uniqueness of each individual. During these meetings, speakers will describe moments from their daily lives where they may face difficulties, and then discuss with students ways in which everyone can contribute concretely to improving their living conditions.
This is a program focused on students, which will give them the opportunity for constructive dialogue, exchange of thoughts, opinions, and experiences, while developing values such as empathy, understanding, and acceptance.
