The Eurobank Group learns from the needs of customers with disabilities and trains its people to provide autonomous and equal service.

Recently, employees of Eurobank branches attended an educational seminar to familiarize with disability and effective provision of services and customer support for people with disability. The aim of this training is to acquire essential knowledge for understanding and effectively supporting impaired individuals, with the goal of providing them with independent and equal service.

The initiative was coordinated by the “Me Alla Matia” and implemented in collaboration with the Hellenic Association for Asperger Syndrome (EL.S.S.A.) and the Liberty Assistance and Guide Dogs school.

The training was experiential, involving trainers who are predominantly disabled individuals and professionals with extensive experience and took place through dialogue, brainstorming, and practical exercises in a mock-up future branch store. It was complemented by a digital game for interactive exploration of disability, accompanied by videos highlighting daily living skills of individuals with different impairments.

On a practical level, trainees interacted with a guide dog and observed how it assists its blind handler. They also experienced being guided by a trained guide dog themselves. Additionally, they learned techniques for assisting individuals with visual impairment.

The training concluded with a discussion on how the knowledge gained can be applied in their daily work routine and interactions with customers
