Greek Sign Language Interpreter

He studied at NKUA and has been working as a professional Greek Sign Language Interpreter since 2013. In 2019, he was elected President of the Association of Greek Sign Language Interpreters, and in 2020 General Secretary of the European Forum of Sign Language Interpreters. He is the founder of the social company HandsUp Agency, the first Sign Language Interpreter agency in Greece. He has participated in pan-European and international conferences related to Deafness and Sign Language Interpretation, but also in special training on audiovisual translation, such as special subtitling for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and audio description for the visually impaired. He speaks English and Russian, holds a Braille certification for reading and writing, and has been a martial arts athlete for many years. In September 2019 he published his first literary book and two short stories followed. He collaborates with the Federation of the Deaf of Greece and the National Foundation for the Deaf as an interpreter. Giorgos is one of the contracted Interpreters of the Ministry of Digital Governance, for the needs of the Briefing of political editors by the Government representative, while he is also the presenter of the special news bulletin in Sign Language for Antenna Channel.
