Educational Action for Familiarization with Visual, Mobility, and Hearing Disabilities Held for Elected Municipal Councilors and Officials of Ilion , by Decision of New Mayor of Ilion, Mrs. Andriana Alevizou
Shortly before the official assumption of duties and the start of the new municipal term, it was once again made clear that Accessibility and Inclusion will guide the actions and decisions of the new Municipal Authority of Ilion daily.
Among other topics, the seminar covered proper ways to approach and communicate with disabled individuals, and there was a demonstration of techniques for guiding blind individuals by sighted persons. A special discussion was held on digital services, technical interventions, social structures, and Social Policy actions required to make life easier for disabled residents of Ilion and their families.
The action was implemented by the scientific staff of the Social Enterprise for Disabled Individuals “Me Alla Matia,” under the coordination of blind lawyer and President of the organization, Vaggelis Avgoulas.
