📌 Costa Navarino

With repeated three-hour, interactive educational seminars over a two-day period, this year’s tourist season continued for the social cooperative “Me Alla Matia” and the internationally renowned hotel complex Costa Navarino in Messinia.

Disabled individuals met with hotel staff in an open dialogue to familiarize employees with visual, mobility, and hearing impairments, breaking stereotypes and resolving questions.

Meanwhile, the educators shared good practices internationally in the hospitality sector, based on their own experiences, while discussing proper vocabulary, communication tips, and correct techniques for welcoming and serving people with disabilities.

A special educational session was held for those working in the catering sector of the hotel complex, aimed at developing techniques to support and more effectively serve people with vision impairment.

👥 The presentations were conducted by Konstantinos Samaras, a deaf Greek Sign Language teacher and collaborator with S.K.E.P. (Association of Social Responsibility for Children and Youth), Panagiotis Pitsiniagkas, Accessibility and Inclusion Consultant, and Evangelos Avgoulas, a blind lawyer and President of the social cooperative “With Other Eyes.”

🔄 The coordination was managed by Thalia Kiousi, Head of Inclusion Programs of the social cooperative “Me Alla Matia”.

✏️ It is noted that recently at Costa Navarino, a series of training sessions were held aimed at both supporting and hiring individuals on the autism spectrum, while the company has a Seatrac at its hotel named “W” to facilitate swimmers with reduced mobility.

🙏 We thank you for the wonderful cooperation and exemplary hospitality!
