✏️ The program is implemented nationwide on our islands with the support of the Athena I. Martinou Foundation.
Mr. Vaggelis Avoulas, a lawyer and President of the “Me Alla Matia” NPO, leads this specific program. Through interactive discussions with students and video presentations, he approaches the reality of disability, accessibility, and the uniqueness of each individual by experience, conveying the message of global inclusion.
The Mayor of Lemnos, Ms. Eleonora Georgiou, emphasized the importance of education for the island’s youth, while the Deputy Mayor for Social Policy, Ms. Ioanna Diamanti, closely followed the interactive student discussion.
The Mayor of Eastern Samos, Mr. Paris Papageorgiou, and Ms. Maria Vakinti, Commissioner for Social Welfare, warmly thanked Mr. Avgoulas for accepting the municipality’s invitation to visit the island and for his contribution to informing the student population on issues of disability and inclusion. They also emphasized that such programs contribute decisively to raising children’s awareness of disability issues and constitute important interventions for the citizens of tomorrow.
