Vangelis is a blind lawyer specializing in Civil Law, and the only disabled person nationwide who has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Athens Bar Association. He is the founder and President of the NPO “Me Alla Matia”, holds a Master’s degree in Inclusive Education, and is registered in the Main Registry of Teaching Staff of the National Centre for Public Administration and Local Government in the field of Social Protection.

He is a scientific associate of the Metropolitan of Ilion, Acharnes and Petroupolis, the official representative in Greece of the international organization VIEWS for young people with visual impairments, and a founding member of the Hellenic U.S. Alumni Association (HELLENIC U.S. ALUMNI). Among other roles, he has served as Deputy Mayor for Social Policy of Ilion, a member of the Health and Social Welfare Committee of the Central Union of Municipalities of Greece, President of the “Oikos Naftou” Insurance Fund, Head of the Youth of the Panhellenic Association of the Blind, an associate member of the Accessibility Committee for Disabled Students at the University of Athens, and President of the regional sports club for persons with disabilities “Tyrtaios.” Find his full CV here.
